I am responsible for this, and would like to apologize for the over-broad lead line.  I intentionally made the line over broad to cast a wide net to the press in hopes to bring them to the table.  I realize now that that over-bredth may mislead some into thinking that we are announcing OWS specific spring events, WHICH WE ARE NOT.  I have personally clarified this to any reporters that have called about this.  Most however do not misunderstand the line.


I will be diligent to preface all speakers on tonights panel as “speakers who do not speak on behalf of Occupy Wall Street” unless they are representing an “official working group” and speaking on behalf of that working group only.


When this panel was conceived the idea was to make a pre-emptive attempt to control the media narrative to assure that the “spirit of OWS” is not put to rest by the mainstream media before spring, and to excite the press for what will likely be an amazing spring 2012.  Most of all this is a launch party for the Declaration booklets 2nd edition we want OWS’s message to ring far & wide in their own voice.  That was the purpose of this all along.

I am stuck at work until 5pm but will gladly meet with anyone at Housing Works before the panel.  Sorry if this is the only email I send until 5pm.

Lastly, I am not on all the copied lists above, can someone make sure that my clarification is made available to anyone else I may have confused.
